Okta

Create the Tenant Okta Connection

This will be a two-step process:

  1. Tenant side: Building a connection in Okta.
  2. Interpres side: Tenant information from the Okta connection will need to be provided to Interpres to complete the setup.

Note: This document assumes you have an administrator account with Okta.

  1. Navigate to the Okta admin screen.
  2. Select the left "hamburger" menu and click on the following options:
  3. Select the Applications "Header" option then the "Applications" option.
  4. Click on the "Create App Integration." The Details window opens.
  5. Select the "SAML 2.0" radio button and click on the "Next" button.

Create the Okta Integration

  1. Add an Application name to the "App Name" field describing the application.
  2. Configure any other items under the "General Settings" tab as needed.

Note: This includes adding our logo.

3. Click the "Next" button. The process advances you to the "Configure SAML" tab.

Configure the SAML Integration

  1. Complete the "Single sign on" URL field with placeholder data.
  2. Complete the "Audience URI (SP Entity ID)" field with placeholder data.

Note: We will return to these fields in a moment (with real data from Interpres).

3. Click the "Next" button to proceed.

SAML setup instructions

  1. Click the "View SAML setup instructions" under the "Sign On" tab. This will open a new window.

Note: You will need the values displayed to complete the rest of this tutorial.

  1. Record the following values:
  2. Copy the Identity Provider Single Sign-On URL value.
  3. Copy the Identity Provider Issuer values. The latter is a string such as:

http://www.okta.com/exkq14ymac31Bx7895d6

  1. Copy and download the X.509 Certificate.
  2. Close the "Setup Instructions" tab.

Step 2: Tenant data for Interpres side of the Integration

Interpres will then take this information that you provide to us and build the SSO integration. Once we have done this we will reply with the URLS that you will need to replace in the “Configure the SAML Integration” section.
